The San Diego Museum of Natural History is another interesting place to visit. Here, you can see 130,000-year-old mastodon skeletons and marvel at the wonders of nature. The museum also houses the body of the first Christian martyr in the region, Father Luis Jayme, who was killed by Native American Kumeyaay warriors in 1775. The original church dates back to the early nineteenth century, but the present structure was restored in 1931.
If you love food, San Diego has several farmers markets. The Little Italy farmers market is the largest in San Diego and spans several blocks. You can buy everything from Korean barbecue toppings to Thai stir-fried noodles. You can also buy homemade sauces and sample all kinds of delicacies from other cultures. The Little Italy farmers market is open every Saturday, and you can sample many delicious samples of different foods.
